Retro64
Lets you toggle into Super Mario 64's Mario, with original physics, inside a Minecraft world.
What it does
Retro64 uses a libsm64 fork to simulate Super Mario 64's movement code in Minecraft, toggled with the M key. Mario can attack mobs, swim, take damage, travel between dimensions and use the wing cap via elytra. Still actively released in 2026 (1.2.5, 27 Sep 2026).
How it works
Minecraft mod driving a libsm64 fork (libsm64-retro64) for 1:1 SM64 physics against Minecraft block geometry; separate audio executable
Requirements & limitations
Forge/NeoForge; user-supplied US Super Mario 64 ROM (.z64); shader/render mods (OptiFine, Sodium) unsupported
