Minecraft X Half-Life

Ports SkyCraft's Minecraft passthrough model to Half-Life.

What it does

Minecraft runs hidden and supplies player physics, blocks, items, mobs, inventory and combat while Half-Life supplies maps, monsters and rendering. The project streams Half-Life map collision into Minecraft and bridges damage and interactions in both directions. The README lists known issues and says newer pieces, such as mob pathfinding on Half-Life maps and shared death, have not been play-tested across the whole game.

How it works

Half-Life SDK hooks + SkyCraft shared-memory protocol

Requirements & limitations

Windows 10 or 11 and Half-Life on Steam (25th anniversary update). Setup needs Git for Windows (Git Bash), Python 3.10+ with pillow and pyyaml, Visual Studio 2019 Build Tools (MSVC v142, C++ workload), and Minecraft: Java Edition installed and run once. Setup downloads the Half-Life SDK, SkyCraft, model tools and a portable Java 25; the first run downloads Minecraft 26.3.

On 2026-10-12 I re-read the repository README and commit history (single commit, 2026-10-02, no tags or release) and its credits; no LICENSE file found. No play-test.
